Self Bowenwork for Office Workers

Date/Time: July 18, 2010, 12:00 pm to 4:00 p.m.

Location: Body Restoration Clinic, 2905 Stender Way, #42

City and State: Santa Clara, CA 95054

Benefits of using Bowenwork:
  • Bowenwork can get immediate relief for common aches & pains that you get sitting at a desk.
  • Bowenwork generally works faster and lasts longer than traditional forms of stretching because it works directly with your nervous system to reset muscular tension.
  • Bowenwork can be used on the spot to get immediate release of muscle tightness with no special equipment, lotions, or oils needed. The moves can be performed over clothing.
  • The work is gentle. It is so gentle that anyone can safely do self Bowenwork even if they can not receive other body therapies.
Description:
On a physical level, Bowenwork is an extremely efficient way of re-balancing muscle tension. Using minimal touch, you gently create a lateral stretch or (move) over tendons, muscles and nerve bundles in a very specific combination. The specific combinations of moves are called procedures. The moves reset the body's muscular tension, as well as help balance various body systems thereby promoting healing and well-being. The body can also use the energetic signals facilitated during a series of moves to elicit deep, healing responses within the body on many different levels - mind, body and spirit.

The class includes:
  • Demonstration of each procedure, with detailed explanation of anatomical landmarks
  • Explanation and discussion of the procedures and indications for their use. The handouts include detailed notes, with photographs and anatomical diagrams
  • Extensive supervised hands-on practice, with feedback from the instructor(s)
In the 4 hour course you will learn how to release:
  •        Low back
  •        Upper back
  •        Neck
  •        Chest
  •        Elbows/wrists

Often, modules are combined (i.e. Modules 1 & 2 or Modules 3 & 4). So if you are looking for a particular module, be sure to do a search for the single module first and then also search for a combined class.  Of course, it is always possible to take a single module during a combined module class.
